Dates, Venue and Lodging
Minneapolis now has space reserved for two weekends: July 9/10-14 and July 23/24-28, 2008
We have these on hold until Sept. 1st:
A Ballroom in the Convention Center for Friday and Saturday. Hotel rooms and all other convention functions will occur at The Millennium Hotel (rates below). Another block of rooms (100) at the nearby Ramada Inn. 50 singles and 50 doubles at $99 is on hold until Sept. 1st. See further below for other accomodation options.
The Millennium is the closest hotel to the convention center, just 125 steps away. The hotel features 322 comfortably equipped guestrooms inclusive of ten suites. We also provide an indoor pool, sauna and workout suite with state of the art exercise equipment. Parking is available in our ramp adjacent to the hotel and Thrifty Car Rental is onsite for easy convenience.
Function rates without food and beverage to go along with the meeting space, I have indicated the maximum rental fees for the rooms. Note that using the Loring for the general session (We could do the double horse shoe in there), the group is in close proximity to the 4 Avenue rooms, also located on the lower level. Another great aspect of this location is that this area has easy access since we have a great staircase in the lobby of the hotel that leads right to it, or guests can take the elevator. The maximum number in each of the four 810 square foot breakouts is 60 people in theatre style.

Note meeting room rental for the program above is $12,800. Adding food and beverage to this program will reduce the meeting room rental fees. Total food and beverage minimum for your group will be assessed at a later date. This could be less if the Loring rooms are not needed during the two days the Convention is across the way.
Taxes and service charges do not apply towards the minimum. All meeting space charges are subject to the current taxes as follows: 10.15% for food, 12.65% for all alcoholic beverages, and 7.15% for audio visual equipment. In addition, a service charge of 20% shall be added to all audio visual and food and beverage charges.
We are holding the above room block or meeting space. Note that the rates and prices included in this proposal are valid until Sept. 1st, 2007.
We have been in close communication with the hotel staff and we are confident that the fully unionized Millennium Hotel Minneapolis would be honored to host the Green Party of the United States event. The actual convention because of the 1000-1500 person size will need to be held at the Convention Center. It is only 125 steps away from The Millennium Hotel.
If we use no other rooms the cost is:
We do have our Ballroom available for you on July 11 & 12, 2008 and July 25 & 26 on a first option basis
The rental will be $3,750.00 per event day for a total of $7,500.00.
So 12,800
+ 7,500
$20,300 (this is a base rate)
